If I go into one format of art, I start to interpret things through it. For example, I've been drawing, and unless I take a break from drawing, letters start looking to me like a bunch of lines on top of each other, rather than 'text', or 'words'. It might not *sound* like an issue... But feeling cluttered by text feels very awkward. :/ Also, a lot of times after I draw, my perception of colour changes, I start seeing colours and shades more than before. Again, from the inside it feels a bit 'meh' to me, like something is off. :?

No, nothing like that has ever happened to me. The closest I can come up with is when I get into one of my writer's states and start to speak only in poetry form.

Okay... now that I think of it everything around me becomes poetry of some sort during this time. Hmm... interesting.

Call me crazy, but I think people with AS have an ability to see things for what they really are. I mean, letters really are just a meaningless pile of lines. They are just symbols with some prescribed meaning. But as for the colors, I've never experienced anything like that before. :s

Nice analogy, anna-banana. I remember having the Tetris effect as well.

Deends. Am I being distracted? Then yes. Is it a conscious decision to change task? Then no.

I think when you just make art you get fully immersed in all the details to try to make it the best it could be. That's dedication, not a sensory issue.
