Not finishing some of the fics I've started when I had less knowledge of the canon, they could have been nice AU or OOC fics at the very least, but now I feel like I can't go back to them.

I used to write fanfic. I often wrote myself into a corner. It's not that the stories couldn't have continued... I just would end up losing my focus. I think it had a lot to do with the characters not really being my own. (I never used characters from the actual source, but it's all the same to me)

I write RPS, so I don't make my own characters up either. It's just that I'd think of a plot, write only a part of it, and dose off, like my brain has a limited capability of working on something. Now I wish I'd finished the stories I had started when I started with those characters, I think they would have probably been great.

No, I meant the concept wasn't mine. I always used characters I came up with myself.

I was the same way with fanfic. I finally abandoned it because I realized I just couldn't write a full story based on someone else's premise. I was really good at shorts, though.

Oh, you mean you created fictional characters for an already existing fictional setting?

I regret not ever writing fanfic to begin with. I wish I had written down the stories that used to play out in my imaginary world. I've more or less forgotten most of the details of them. Though in retrospect some of the ideas I had were pretty stupid, I still wish I had them on paper so I could look back on them for nostalgia's sake.

My imagination is still really active, and I have an awesome concept in my mind, but I may never bring myself to write it down because I'm scared of it not turning out perfect or someone criticizing it.
