Do you have any Obscure/Mysterious bands and projects to share?

I have no real concept of whether something is obscure of mysterious. I'm quite out of touch with what music is mainstream and what's not.

In any particular genre? I listen to a number of bands that appear to be entirely unknown for some strange reason or another.

I don't know if Victor Wooten is obscure or not, but the video surely is.

It's a great song, too.

RushKing, I kinda liked the very beginning intro of Stagnant Waters - Willpower (before the screaming)....it's creepy melodically and the reverse attack effect makes it even weirder...or maybe it was recorded backwards (?)

I like a lot of myspace artists, so I guess they're obscure artists, but they're more alternative-rock-pop-folk-etc, so the music itself isn't so weird.

Here's one of my favourite myspace bands (but I have a lot of favs):

Here's my favourite obscure band from the 60's...this is pretty weird:

Dunno if I love this band or not, but I love this song at least. The video is weird.

I think this is obscure weird-metal with a nice ambiance.

Yellow Magic Orchestra...one of my favorite groups around, if you want even weirder more obscure stuff, look up the solo stuff.

Telex - L'Amour Toujours
YMO - Radio Junk
Akiko Yano - Rose Garden
Kazumi Watanabe - Kangtong Boy
YMO - Mass
YMO - UT

Yellow Magic Orchestra could possibly count as "special interest" status for me. I mean my username is a YMO song and all.. But I think this qualifies as obscure (in USA, anyway) and it's pretty mysterious sounding to me anyway.

Moleechat has some cool stuff. I've exchanged a few messages with him and he's an interesting guy.

And then semi-Dream-Theater-esque progressive stuff.

I need to not listen to this band because I then have to listen to the whole album. :|
