I have no idea how. But my voice is fairly low and if I try to talk in a low voice people turn kind of startled that I produced a sound that low.

So if I am in a crowded place I would say excuse me, and people would actually jump out of the way. When they thought I couldn't hear them lots of times they would say I thought that was a big black guy and laugh.

There were 2 people in my studyhall in highschool that were in choir that said I should join. But I am fairly shy and have no idea how to sing.

This is mostly out of curiosity since I am not sure If I would want to take the time or spend the money to learn how to sing

Do most people just know how to sing, or have to learn? And is it hard? A symptom of aspergers is having a monotonous voice, I don't think I have one but have no idea how to use a vocal range for singing.

i could sing as long as i can remember, starting with singing nursery songs with mom. try singing along with the radio. ask a friend how it sounds after you've practiced a song a couple of times. that should give you a starting point.

i was told i have great pitch.
when i learn a cover song...i pretty much at first mimic the original singer i here...then later i may change how i sing it...making it different, if that makes any sense.

I've always said that anyone can learn how to sing... Most people can hold a tone if they hear it while doing it... And a choir is a great place to start... You are not in focus but the entire choir is... I was really shy too when I was a child but after I joined a church choir I got more confident and started solo lessons a few years later... So just go for it... And if you find out its nothing for you just drop out again...

Most choir singers get the opportunity to sing solo for the choirmaster alone and he or she will tell you the honest opinion... :) Just go for it!
