This past Sunday I finished a paper for school and I don't have anything else going at the moment. Writing is something I find difficult. I'm more of an artistic type.

Nothing ATM, unless you count compiling my poems and seeing about getting them published while occasionally writing a new one. (by that I mean once or twice a week... sometimes more)

I have quite a few unfinished projects, though. I may or may not get back to some of them. Some are novels and some are short stories.

I have a fantasy novel starring an African warrior queen, an Anglo-Saxon barbarian, and numerous dinosaurs, but while I have three chapters and almost 4,200 words written, I've made little progress since then. I need to brainstorm some ideas for what's going to happen next in my story.

Just some grantwriting and marketing pieces for work. I'm boring. I need to get back into writing fiction at some point.

I've gone back to working on a short horror story, which can be best described as a haunted house story, which I had gotten stuck on last year and abandoned.

I finished the first draft of a full-length novel a little more than a year ago, and I've been in limbo with it since then, sort of gradually working it over to finesse all of the bugs out of it. At this point, I believe self-publishing to e-book format is my best option, but I've got a few issues to resolve before I jump into that-- one being that I'd feel much more at ease about self-publishing if I had some legal counsel to protect my rights as an artist. I'm aiming to have it figured out and release it for public consumption by this summer. I've already got a few ideas for some follow-up projects.

In addition, I've got various short stories and essays in various states of completion. I've also undertaken a project that I call A Year of Haiku, where I write a haiku for every day of 2012. I've got 37 at the moment. Just 329 to go!

I have around 150 pages of a novel written. But I am not totally satisfied with it. The writing is fine, it's just the storyline---I think I want a different twist in it.

I am working on a comic book with a fellow WP member.

I am working on an anthology of horror/sci-fi short stories.

I began a nonfiction book on a genuine haunted house---but it is very difficult for me to write. I am not sure how to handle it---like with privacy issues. I am not sure what hauntings/ghosts really are, but I do know there are places where things happen that cannot be explained. And this is one of those places. It is quite Amityville like. I really feel the need to make this story known. Since I am having difficulty with it, I wish I could find a collaborating author to work with on it.

I have a few stories I'm writing at ATM... But writers block is a pain... I haven't written anything great in months... But I'll soon start writing my first script... Don't know if it will ever be made into a movie but I'm just doing it to try it and see if I can... :)

One that I'm putting on hold right now is about a person in antediluvian times who develops space travel in order to get away from the violence prevalent throughout the world.

A bunch of comics. But I can´t seem to ever finish anything. I often feel it´s pointless to put hours and hours of work into something that it´s doubtful anyone would appreciate. I´ve always been told by others that they don´t understand my stuff (poems/short films/comics). In attempting to do something others might like all I´ve come up with are lame run-of-the-mill stories. Problem is I´m too self-conscious about what I´m doing and therefore srarely believe in it.

I´m currently working on a story about a guy whose body is losing its solidity, so he´s literally falling apart and spends a lot of time in the hospital. His fear of death and bitterness get the better of him and he becomes very egotistical and spiteful.
There´s another aspect to the story that I´m not so sure about where the protagonist has an imaginary "friend", a person only he can see, who happens to be a robot. In the end it turns out the robot is actually real. Sounds confusing? Maybe it´s because this story is a hybrid of several of my older unfinished stories.

I asked my brother what he thought about it, he said I should focus on shorter comedy stuff, preferably with a political agenda. Too bad that´s just the kind of comics he likes and not something I have any talent for.

I have decided to backburner my fictional novel and short story anthology in favor of officially starting my nonfiction work. I will use the actual names of the people involved in this true story for my drafts, but I will consider changing them before publication for privacy reasons. I must deal with this work carefully as I present the facts. My story is controvesial since it involves the paranormal. Everyone must make up his or her own mind as to what they believe, but I can say that there are things that cannot be explained by science---but that does not mean they are not true. At one time ball lightning was considered in the realm of the paranormal, but today it has been discovered that it has a scientific basis. The giant squid was at one time considered mythological, but today we know they are real. And today you can buy games where brainwaves can be transmitted in order to move objects. Perhaps this is one step closer to finding telekinesis as an accepted scientific entity.

My true story involves a haunting on the scale of what the Amityville Horror was supposed to be (if considered true)---although not that evil in context. The most evil things in this story involve an elderly lady being thrown out the front door of the home and landing onto the lawn about 10 feet away (witnessed by 6) incredibly without injury, a vase flying through the air and narrowly missing a subject's head (witnessed by 2), and a voice speaking to a resident, "I will kill you." There are also numerous sightings of a tall darkened shadowy apparition moving from room to room, the sounds of heavy running back and forth through the house at night, doors opening and closing on their own, etc. This is not the typical haunted house story you hear associated with the typical old house, but a far more elaborate haunting involving numerous different types of events, and extending over the course of many years. Although some of the hauntings are more patterned, there are a large amount of unpredictable events that happen only once or twice.

I do not know for sure my opinion on ghosts, but as I said earlier, there are things that cannot be explained. And many of these things may some day be explained by science. But just because something cannot be presently explained does not mean it has not happened. I try to keep an open mind with such topics, but each person is allowed his or her own opinion.

I am writing a multi-genre/multi-plot novel that I hope will be finished this year. So far I have told only a few friends about this novel, but I think that I might as well WrongpPlanet too. This facebook page will describe it better than if I attempted to give a synopsis: Black Mittens If you want to know more, you can private message me.
