Anyone familiar with the 1975 hit 10cc song, "I'm Not in Love?" I remember being fascinated with the elaborate synth sounds at the time. I didn't realize there were no synthesizers used at all in the song. What I thought were synths, were in fact tape loops of vocals, slowed down and sped up to various pitches and mixed to create chords and harmonies. This, done long before the invention of sampling technologies such as the Sinclavier (the world's first sampling keyboard/synth).
Whether you love, hate, or are indifferent to the song itself, if you have any interest at all in production techniques, this is pretty fascinating.
Almost the entire recording is actually acapella!

I'm not likely to be around much longer. As before when I first signed up here years ago, I'm finding that after a long hiatus, and after only a few days back on here, I'm spending way too much time here again already. So I'm requesting my account be locked, banned or whatever. It's just time. Until then, well, I dunno...
