So, although I was never much interested in Nickeolodeon's Kids' Choice Awards even when I was a kid (mainly out of disinterest for most of the artists and actored featured on it, and distaste for the jokes and the sliming), I was surprised to learn yesterday, while googling, that this year's edition features a new category called 'Favorite Asian Act'.

Clockwise from the upper left, we have Agnes Monica Muljoto (Indonesia), Charice Pempengco (The Philippines), Wonder Girls (South Korea), and Yuna Zarai (Malaysia).
I'm surprised about the very existence of this category, perhaps even more surprised about the 75% representation of 'Malay' artists here (Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines), and the absence of acts from Japan, China, and Taiwan. I know that Charice has garnered some fame in America, but I didn't know that there was apparently that much support from the audience to justify a Favorite Asian Act award. I suppose Charice and Wonder Girls have some appeal to the KCA's target audience, and by extension so does Agnes' music. Yuna is perhaps the odd one out.

And here's their music:

EDIT: Oh, never mind. I didn't see it was Nickelodeon Asia. It makes sense as the site also has the times for Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, and Korea up.
