I just recorded these demos today and would like to know what you guys think of them. Also, what genre would these fall under? Because honestly, I am clueless. Thank you!

Sounds very hard rock and grungy to me (in an acoustic version). Actually quite Nirvana-esque. It's very good! You're a skilled guitarist and your voice is good as well.

Agreed.

:thumleft: Quite Radiohead-esque to me and you have a good clear tone to your voice.

Well all of those descriptions make sense. Nirvana is my favorite band, and I consider Thom Yorke a huge influence. Thank you guys for the critique. I have other songs that I plan to record that are a little bit happier, :p.

They sound very much like acoustic Radiohead. So I would say hard rock acoustic grunge with alittle hint of acoustic goth.

Acoustic goth? Wow I've never even heard of that before, haha. Nevertheless, thank you. Comparing me to Radiohead is a huge compliment (at least I hope). This isn't my best stuff though, just songs I've been itching to record.

Hey thank you! And I shall record subsequent [acoustic] demos for whoever wants to hear them.

The lyrics to the first one, "So They Say":

Verse 1
Take me back to the star view
Take me back to the boring kill
You forget what it means to say
You don't need this
He doesn't even know

Chorus
It's always been tomorrow
So they say a cancer
It's always been tomorrow
So they stay gone
(gone, gone, gone)

Verse 2
Take me back, empty bottle
Want what's best in the moment's thrill
You forget what appears to say
You've been dreaming
He doesn't even know

The chorus is repeated, then a little interlude followed by another chorus.

The lyrics to the second one, "Like a Rescue Team":

Verse 1
I'm coming up with my head down but where's the ceiling?
A chain reaction's going faster
Let's all forget about ourselves just for a bit
And that's the way it goes
Tomorrow never knows

Chorus
It coming over like a rescue team, like a rescue me
Myyyyyyyy
(repeated)
[I know the lyrics don't really make sense, but it's what I was feeling]

The second verse is pretty much the same as well as the chorus. Very simple.

Oh yes, definitely. The meaning is just rather abstract and kind of personal. Thank you for taking an interest in my music! :)
