Has anyone read this book? I picked it up recently in New Zealand and thought it was fantastic.
If you have read it, what do you think of the child Simon? Some reviews I've read describe him as autistic. While he does have traits, namely his muteness, imperviousness to normal forms of discipline and the fact that he "never really plays" like a normal child would, I would think that his ability to charm people and his command of nonverbal language would rule out any kind of autism.
If you've read this book and enjoyed it, what others would you recommend?
