Why do people loathe my music taste so much? Am I an alien?

I personally don't know anyone who even slightly shares my music taste or even can bear listening to it without complaining about it except one of my friends. They all think it's horrible eardrum raping noise while I personally think it's not. To me this music is calming and satisfying funnily enough. I don't get it, at all. People generally think I'm nuts or drugged up, high on coke and other drugs. While I actually have never taken any drugs at all in my entire life. Yet I am addicted to this music that people seem to associate to drugs, violence and insanity. Nah I don't get it, at all. I feel left out by it. I can't even play it anywhere without getting people all over me asking me to turn it off, not turning it down, but just turn it off, because it doesn't even sound pleasant to them if it's playing on a quiet volume.

This is my youtube-profile which I've stacked with music I like:

Here's a rough last-fm compilation image of the genres I listen to:

If anyone feels like they're in the same position or have the same taste as me, PM me!

But yeah I don't know a whole lot about electronic and industrial music yet but I know I love stuff like this:

I don't like that music either, but so what? What matters is that you enjoy it! Now if you are playing it out in public then everyone does have a right to comment on it and ask you to turn it off, because at that point they're being forced to listen to it when they may not want to.

As for me personally, I actually only know one person who has music tastes remotely similar to mine and he's in his mid-80s lol. I don't feel isolated in any way by it though, the only real drawback is that I don't have anyone to really talk about music with.

Well yeah, but why don't they spin this music on the radio anymore like they (sometimes) did in the 90s? Why does this music necessarily have to be so underground? It's not that it actually contains any offensive image in it compared to modern pop, it's just heavier and more distorted, but it's not got any discriminating messages in it? Or does it? In general?

My husband likes that kind of music too and I don't like that kind. But I would never tell others to turn their music off because it's their right to listen to it. Telling them to turn it down is one thing but to tell them to turn it off, I won't do that. But if we are on the road traveling, it be might right not not have him play it in my car for the whole trip, we would take turns however. He plays my music and his. Or he can listen to his music through his head phones while I play my own music in the CD player.

If I walk into Hot Topic and this music is playing, I ignore it. I am there to look, not listen to the music so it's just background noise.

What style does he listen to exactly? The same style as on my youtube videos? Do you know any artists he likes in that style?

What Industrial Metal and Psytrance acts do you like, other than Psyclon Nine?

I seem to gravitate more to the songs that have a tribal beat to them. Anything else & I just see it as badly mixed music. That just has randomly inserted noise, like someone "high". Like psyclon nine.

I doesn't have to be underground, that's just a reflection of how many people like it. Music is not necessarily taken off the radio for being offensive/vulgar, it's just a matter not getting enough listeners to pay the bills for that station. Just keep listening to what you like.

Hmm well I am not sure all these necessarily fit in those categories but
Deathstars
Combichrist
Reefer Decree
Dawn Of Ashes

But yeah there are a lot I've heard on last.fm but I'd have to look at my music history to see what their called. I only recently really got intrested in this sort of music so I'm still trying to find more bands in those genres.

Well I would be surprised if everyone in that band hasn't been high at least once, but I don't see how they are badly mixed music with randomly inserted noise. But how do you feel about black metal? lol

Depends where your mind has gone at the time though, does it not. Like a drunk person. It totally depends on the song for me, I don't really have a taste, other than the beat.

Edit:- was interesting read, thought I would look it up.

Those bands are all in the Industrial genre I think (more precisely EBM). I think Deathstars is more in the metal area and can be classified as Industrial Metal. So far as my limited genre-guessing skills can go.
