I am a massive Kate Bush fan, and always have been.

I think she is the greatest (and most underrated) Female Recording Artist of all Time.

Kate has always helped my through periods of major depression, and has saved me from Commiting Suicide.

I feel like her music is talking to me.
No other music artist has affected my life at much as Kate. I own every album and single she has ever made.

I am a very introverted person, and i guess its a factor of why i have always felt a connection to her.

I just thought id share this to see if anyone else is a fan. :)

I really like her music too, I've only got one of her albums (the 'best of') but I agree, she's definitely an underrated artist and deserves more respect.

I'm also a very shy and introverted person, a few years ago I was very depressed and had a nervous breakdown. The only music I could listen to without bursting into tears was Joanna Newsom's "Milk Eyed Mender" album, it helped me through a really difficult time in my life. I know it's slightly off topic but I can relate to what you're saying. I feel the same about Joanna's music.

Thank you for sharing :D

My favourite Kate Bush songs are This Woman's Work and The Kick Inside.

KATE BUSH IS THE MOST AMAZING LADY EVER!! !
I went through a period of my life when I listened to nothing but her, and hated it when I inadvertently listened to any other type of music that someone else was playing (such as my sister who blares her music really loud...)
Suffice it to say, I've somewhat cut back on Kate, mostly because my friends thought it would be a good idea to make me give up talking about Kate Bush for lent this year, and that proved to be even harder than I expected...
I think her very best album is The Dreaming (released 1982) even if most people say Hounds of Love is best, I guess that's just because it was her most commercially successful, only I do think The Ninth Wave is amazing, especially 'Hello Earth'. Alas, I must say, however, that due to the fact that I can't seem to find it anywhere and to get it off the internet or something like that would be breaking my rules, I haven't listened to Aerial so maybe that's her best? I do really like 'King of the Mountain.'
I think her very best songs are, 1) 'Breathing', 2) 'Top of the City', 3) 'Hello Earth', 4) 'Misty', and, 5) 'Rocket's Tail'. It's really hard to narrow it down to just five, though, because I have to cut out stuff like 'Get Out of My House', 'Night of the Swallow', 'And So Is Love'...and heaps more.
It's actually amazing to hear about your experiences with Kate. There really is something amazing about her music. This probably sounds stupid, but I imagine it would make her really happy to know she's helped you through hard times - I know I[i] would be amazed if I had such an impact on someone's life! Kate Bush always helps me when I get overwhelmed, and I like to listen to some of her music or go through song listings on her albums from 'Moving' to 'Among Angels' (excluding, of course, Aerial) or just say her lyrics to myself or even go through album release dates!
Ach, sorry I've said so much, I just really like Kate Bush and it's nice to say this to someone who appreciates her as well! I did Relay for Life this year, and in the early morning I talked about her for about an hour and a half to people who weren't really interested, except Justin Hongchoumpon and he's one of my favourite people, until I was cut off. Oh and Dots, you have good taste, 'This Woman's Work' and 'The Kick Inside' are amazing. The former is such an emotional song, and sae wth teh latter even if it has very dark subject matter!

I heard "This Woman's Work" on Pandora and immediately liked it a lot! I'm going to check out some of her other songs and see what I think.

I really like Kate Bush. My favourite songs written by her are This Women's Work and Flower Of The Mountain. And I think Pi may be about some aspects of AS, but I'm not sure.

Flower of the Mountain's great! I actually did my dm English speech on Ulysses because of that song and I pretended to be Molly Bloom and spoke the lyrics as well as some other bits from her soliloquy - excepting of course, the "stepping out of the page and into the sensual world" bits. I also played a bit of the song at the start, though everyone in my class just laughed at it because they thought it was weird!
Pi actually sounds great - but alas, it i impossible for me to find Aerial anywhere! I've heard King of the Mountain because that's the single so allowed, and is the rest of the album really good? I thoroughly dislike not having this album!

Me too just love Kate Bush's music, and always loved it since I was 17yrs old. Even though I don't like progressive rock much after all.
