So everyone is whining about how anything with -core as a suffix isn't metal, than they go and say that Screamo is a form of metal! Scream is not metal, it's not even related. It comes from emo, thus the name. Emo is a derivative of indie rock and post-hardcore, it has nothing to do with metal. The word came from "emotional hardcore". There is no relationship between Screamo and metal at all. And now people are saying that anything with -core isn't real metal. Guess what? Fusions between metal and hardcore punk being considered metal is nothing new. Thrash is a fusion of speed metal and hardcore punk, so if you want to say that anything with a hardcore influence isn't metal than you might as well say half the things people consider metal aren't metal. I personally consider metalcore to definately be a form of metal, but not Grindcore, and I really don't know either way about Deathcore, but all of this anti-core elitism is nonsense as well as saying the screamo is a form of metal.

Completely agree but to be quite honest I hate screamo and emo music anyway.

Worse is when people call cheesy euro-dance "techno".

Agreed completely, but Napalm Death were the band that influenced other grindcore bands like Carcass (First 2 albums), Pig Destroyer and Extreme Noise Terror. As for metalcore, i really have no issue with any of the genre's bands, except that they rip off At the Gates and i can't stand nonsense like As I Lay Dying, It Dies Today, Darkest Hour or Rise To Remain. Same goes for deathcore, it's just a load of rubbish.
