This might not be exactly what you're looking for, or you might be well aware of them already, but you might try Bel Canto... The stuff from the early '90's is good - 'Birds of Passage' and 'Shimmering Warm and Bright'

Try Talk Talk
their first album was like a poor mans duran duran
their 2nd and 3rd album were great electo-pop
thier 4th and 5th album were some of the most inovative music of all time with Jazz Influenced proto-post-rock which failed miserably comercialy but are concidered by some (my included to be 2 of the greatest peices of art of all time)

I recommend the godfathers of electro-pop: Kraftwerk.

The albums I particularly recommend are: "Autobahn", "Trans-Europe Express", and "The Man Machine".

electro-pop from the 80s is New Romantics isn't it?

Here's a list of what I think are artists that are classed as New Romantics that aren't mentioned already:

- Pet Shop Boys
- Culture Club
- Thompson Twins
- Landscape (The Song Einstein A Go Go)
- Japan
- That Artist who sung Electric Dreams

That's about it I think.

Hmm.. not sure what classifies as electro-pop but you may want to check out Mesh. British synth-pop/darkwave band. I've been a fan of them for the past 6 years, highly recommended. :)

If you like Depeche Mode, you'd probably like some modern goth-pop stuff like VNV Nation, Covenant, and Bruderschaft.

You mean Futurepop, I've got tons of VNV Nation songs and their recent stuff is Futurepop, not some made up label like "goth-pop" sheesh.

last message may sound a little strange at parts, I was falling asleep and had to wake up at 7:30 am! =P hehe

I'd also recommend:

Moenia - many say it's a copycat of Depeche mode
Le tigre (deceptacon song)
Goldfrapp
the Trainspotting soundtrack

maybe:

The octopus project
Kruder & Dorfmeister
Muse
Isolée

Here are some tracks I’d recommend. You will probably have heard of most of these, and some of them might not quite qualify as electo-pop.

Electro-pop

Don’t Go by Yazoo
Only You by Yazoo
Smalltown Boy by Bronski Beat
Disco Rout by Legowelt

Instrumental / electro-ambient (?) (Ambient is my favourite genre!)

E2-E4 by Manuel Gottsching (whole album!)
Soil Festivities: Movement 1 by Vangelis
Blade Runner: End Titles by Vangelis
Oxygene by Jean Michel Jarre (whole album!)
Knight Rider Theme (!) by Stu Phillips
The Chase by Giorgio Moroder
Magic Fly by Space

Electro-funk

Rockit by Herbie Hancock
White Horse by Funkadelic
When Doves Cry by Prince

Electro-bleep (a real genre according to what I once read in Smash Hits)

You’re walking by Electribe 101 (One of my all-time favourite tracks! In fact, I’d recommend the whole album, Electribal Memories. “Talking with Myself” is the track critics rave about.)

Electro-punk (??)

The Raven by The Stranglers

“Guilty pleasures” (as they say)

Break My Stride by Matthew Wilder
Love and Pride by King
Broken Wings by Mr Mister (Electro-soft-rock? Maybe this is stretching it a bit)
Seven Tears by The Goombay Dance Band
