So I'm thinking the Romanian invasion is occurring. Lots of house music/techno is being made in Romania now. Like, Edward Maya is one of the earliest examples of this, but Alexandro Stan's "Mr. Saxobeat" is another example, but it seems like Romanian house music is getting quite popular. For good reason, it's good music, even if the songs get a bit too similar to one another at times. So has anyone else noticed this, you think there's gonna be a Romanian invasion to the world music scene more than there is now? Right now it doesn't seem to be quite at the level of, say, the British invasion of the 60s, but it's definitely at the level of...Sweden in the 90s (with eurodance.) I think this is a pretty positive development in music, too, there needs to be some nice happy dance music to offset everything else.

Very famous song, heard on the radio a bunch here.

Also heard a lot on the radio, in public, etc.

What do you think, will it get more popular in the future? It's not something you'd expect, a former Com-bloc country making happy dance music for the world, you know?

Well, you know, we Romanians are a pretty optimistic and cheerful people. Our main coping mechanism throughout the centuries was to make fun of whatever happened. We do not have a tragic vocation of any sort. Being a Romanian myself, I'm not surprised at all that Romanian artists make this kind of happy music...

I personally am into rock music, so I do not usually listen to the artists you mentioned in your post. But I really am proud that their music is well liked by people in other countries.

The leaders of the international music scene have always been Britan, the US, and Germany. Other countries contribute a lot of stuff all the time, but that doesn't make them the next big wave. For example, a lot of Heavy Metal of all types comes from Finland, but Finland is considered to be one of the most influential countries on our music.
