This is Ozzy Osbourne's new single.

I like it, but it irritates me at the same time:

Every day that you wait you're falling faster
No sleight of hand, no twist of fate, no ever after
When it's gone - it's gone, afight to the bitter end
Life won't wait for you
No, life won't wait for you, my friend.

Do you ever wonder whether you are living your life to the full? Do you ever feel slightly insulted by songs like this because you aren't the sort of person that goes out to parties or has a big social life?

Personally I tend to spend alot of time by myself and that's just the way I am, but this stupid song made me wonder whether in 20 years time I am going to think that I wasted my youth and feel like I didn't live my life.

life does not have to wait for me.

life is everywhere.
it is in front of me and it is behind me and it is either side of me and it is inside me.

no matter where i am or when i am or where everyone else is, life is always in me, and i carry my life with me for every second of it.

Personally I don't feel that going to parties means living life to the full. Not that I think there's anything wrong with them either, but none of the parties I've been to have had a lasting impact on my life. Every now and then I'll have a moment like yours, though, and then I'll go out a little more temporarily.

I'd say that living life to the full has more to do with sharing your talents and intelligence with the world, and parties usually aren't an effective way of doing that.

I don't have a big social life and I certainly don't go to stupid parties; I see that as more wasting your life than living it.

Thanks, that actually makes me feel better.
I've been thinking that probably the best way for me to enjoy myself is to create more artwork (I've pretty much stopped altogether) and to write more songs ( I emailled a song to a friend the other day and he told me never to stop writing).

Pah. Wasting time means building / not building empires.
Wasting time means partying / not partying.
Wasting time means peaceful ly sit ands read / not peacefully sit and read.
Wasting time means running for office / not running for office.

Two people, two paths.

If I don't say he is missing out, hoe can he say it of me?

Yes, time runs and no I do not have enough. But I am using every second I have as best I can.

Who cares?

Life is not a person that I should care what they think.

Life is that which I live. My life, not anyone elses. I don't really care what some other song writer thinks and says in their own songs. I write my own, and they reflect what I think. What success is, is defined individually, and I don't base my definition of success on anyone's thoughts, values or principles but my own.

Whether I am happy with what I've done is all that matters.

No one else has the right to judge me in song or otherwise. Even if they do, I don't accept it.

Think of the context. The context is Ozzy Osbourne, a middle aged man who did not manage to conquer his drug problem until after it had done him some neurological damage. (You could see this damage in his reality show. He seemed to have lost some fine motor control.) When you consider that, what he may actually be singing about is how you can't keep putting off fixing your problems. He put off fixing his problems and has paid a price for that.

I'm reliably informed that he asked his woman a while back, but she couldn't help him with his mind.

My favorite saying is "every choice you make in life is a mistake."

It seems like a negative statement, but its really a positive statement.

If you went out and partied every night for twenty years, you might look back and regret that you didnt study harder and start a career. Who knows.
