I don't know much of the great historic NZ music unfortunately but I did have the opportunity to visit back in January 2011 and wow, you've got a truly beautiful country (to any of you who haven't been to Fjordland National Park and Milford/Doubtful - no idea what you're missing).

One of your true geniuses of electronic music hailing in recent times from Auckland:

Neglecting the classics, are we? We'll have to correct that!

By the way, your My Delirium video doesn't have sound in 360p. Here is a better version:

I changed all the videos to non-corporate stuff. Hopefully that solves the problem.

This thread has got me thinking about what "New Zealand music" actually means.

As the thread shows, New Zealand artists have had success working within all sorts of contemporary genres, and their music is often pretty indistinguishable from, say, an English artist doing the same sort of thing around the same time.

Another point is that New Zealand artists often do not sing in a Kiwi accent, since it would limit their audience. Ladyhawke is a particularly obvious example of this (she pronounces "answer" and "chance" like an American in the first verse of My Delirium).

This is why, to me, real "New Zealand" music either has a Polynesian influence, or it actually refers to New Zealand stuff, or it is sung in a Kiwi accent. Everything else is just "music made by a New Zealand artist".

Do you have any music videos that feature a kiwi accent?

Some of the ones already posted probably qualify. Accents tend to meld together in singing anyway, but there are certain words that can tip you off. Here is a band that comes to mind:
