I think the first and most important thing about writing is to have something you really need to write. If you're just writing because you want to be a writer, it'll show. The writing's got to be demanding to be let out.

You can know everything there is to know on the face of the planet about the technical niceties of writing, and if you don't have a story you have to tell, it won't matter worth a damn.

So true, I always write about "What If?" or "This what's gonna happen." but mostly "Why?"
