My roommate bought this tablet today but decided that she wants one of the bigger models for what she needs. She is going to get the next tablet up and thus I will inherit the bamboo splash, of which I am very excited. I am not used to using the computer to do art, not very much, but I think I can get the hang of it. Not to mention that it will probably help with being able to try more mediums than soft and oil pastels and graphite and charcoal.

Although I do not feel very wasteful in terms of purchasing supplies (a complaint my roommates usually have) I have obtained a very strong sense of recycling and being more involved with Eco-friendly activities and the amount of paper I go through is probably not healthy. The tablet will not only make more mediums available to me, but reduce the waste products I produce in my art.

Anyone ever use one before? If so, what is your impression/experience with it?

If not, would you try it?

If anyone is actually curious, I got the tablet today and this is one of the images I got made thus far. SO far I have a positive impression of it, just takes some getting used to. Looking up at the screen while I draw on the surface, instead of staring directly at the surface. It sure takes patience to learn.

I can't speak for the Splash, but I do use a Bamboo Create. Takes a bit of getting used to, but once you do, for some things it is a LOT better then a mouse.

Create is the one my roommate got. Splash is the most economic and basic of the bamboo tablets, but thus far is has worked great for me. I just finished another piece after some more practice and I must say I am greatly enjoying this.
