Years ago I read a book in the horror genre that I'd love to find and read again, however I can't remember the name or the author. I remember most of the story though although not the main characters names.

I'd also like to find this short story I once read in I believe National Lampoon magazine, back in the late 70's. I can't remember the name of it either.

Anyone have any idea how I might be able to find this information?

Let's see, you provide no real details of either story, and you expect people to read your mind, so that if someone recognizes the stories from reading your mind, they can identify them for you.

Go to the local libraries, and check the horror section for the book. You can also check through the back issues of National Lampoon for the article at the local libraries. More recent issues will still be in print form, but older issues will probably be on microfilm or some other format that allows storage of lots of print in a small package. It might even be on computer. You could also look for the article online at the National Lampoon's own website. However, if you plan on asking anyone at the libraries, or asking the search engine for help, you will need to provide more details.

I never asked for anyone here to identify them, I certainly don't expect people to read my mind. I asked if anyone had any idea how I might be able to find the name of them.

I certainly have more details but I didn't put them all in this post, because it would be irrelevant since I was only asking if there was a website, etc that could match plot and setting of the story to a title.

I'd really suggest you read what I wrote in my post before you answer in such a smart ass way. It would be justified if I had done what you said, but as it is, it was your mistake in misreading or not reading completely, not mine in asking the question.

Done all those, thats why I was asking if there were other ways to find the titles here (not asking to be provided with the title).

http://www.marksverylarge.com/issues.html Gives an index of the National Lampoon issues and under the link of each issue provides the the title, author and synopsis of each article in that issue. Hope this helps. At least so you can find the issue, but the website doesn't sell any copies...
