If I had to guess, I'd say most people on this board live in areas with where radio stations overplay certain songs. For example, the classic rock station near me just loves Don Mclean's "American Pie" and the Eagles' "Hotel California." Now, obviously, they would not play these songs if someone was not asking for them, so what are your favorite overplayed songs.

Some of mine are
"Blinded By the Light" - Manfred Mann's Earth Band
"Take Me Home Tonight" - Eddie Money
"Hungry Heart" - Bruce Springsteen

And in the more modern category
"Alive With the Glory of Love" - Say Anything
"Through Glass" - Stone Sour
"When I'm Gone" - Three Doors Down

Of course, this is just a partial list.

Hotel California, Stairway to Heaven, and Bohemian Rhapsody.

Although it really irritates me that Bohemian Rhapsody got more airplay because of Wayne's World than it did before. I almost got into a fistfight over this at the time...

"Have you heard the new Queen song?"
"It seems unlikely."
"Oh, well, I know you're a Queen fan, you should check it out."
"Dude, Freddie Mercury died two years ago."
"It's called 'Bohemian Rhapsody'."
"Ah. That came out when I was three years old."
"No! This is a new song."
"I've been listening to it since before you were born, kid."
"No, I'm serious, this just came out. It's really great."
"Indeed it is. I have it already. On vinyl."
"What's vinyl?"

Evanescence's hits ("Bring Me to Life," "Going Under," etc. Not "Call Me When You're Sober," though--I thought that was the worst song on "The Open Door.")

Nightwish - "Nemo"

Cradle of Filth - "Nymphetamine"

Nine Inch Nails - "The Hand that Feeds"

Three Days Grace - "I Hate Everything About You," "Animal I Have Become," etc.

Really I don't listen to the radio, but these were the ones that probably do/did get too much radio play.

I don't have a favourite overplayed song on the radio, because they overplay the pop that I despise. :x

My favourite song I overplay is on my iPod + this varies.

I don't care if a song overplayed, if I like it that's all I care.

I just get tired of hearing people say that I like crappy bands saying that my favorite bands sell out when all they did was make a big hit! What in the hell is wrong with making a big hit?

Making a big hit = fame and popularity.

Benefit for the band = MONEY! :)

I wouldn't care bout the money, I'd be in if for the music and playing. And making money still doesn't make them a sh***y band or a sh***y band who only does it FOR the money.

Back on topic.

An overplayed song I like is.......

Dang I don't even listen to the radio. :?
