Have heard a bit - if you like rock with a Celtic influence you should check out New Model Army and The Levellers, two big folk-punk bands from England. :D

what's the old tongue? do you mean a celtic tongue, cos you've got Irish (which gets called Gaelic, but should have the Irish qualifier. Erse would be the ancient version), Scots Gaelic, Welsh (dear to my heart)?

if so, Altan do Irish, and Capercaille, Scots songs, traditional or otherwise. most of the stuff in one of these three languages i listen to is less rock and more traditional, though.

I'm unable to think of any other bands than the ones mentioned, but I'm a really big fan of Celtic folk/rock!

Actually, I do have a good Celtic folk/punk band. They're called Siobhan. I also listen to The Town Pants quite a bit, they're pretty fun.

I've listened to a fair bit of folk/rock crossover recently, though I prefer the German variant - bands like In Extremo (especially), Schandmaul, Subway to Sally and Tanzwut. Languages include old Germanic and Scandinavian tongues, plus some original material in German. And they do the costumes as well.

Great Big Sea!! They are awesome!! Also, if you want songs in gaelic, try Horslips, very nice music. My favorite of theirs is "drive the cold winter away"

My husband I love Flogging Molly and we also like the Dropkick Murphys. I think traditional celtic music and rock/punk are a great blend of Bailey's and Coffee.
