Hi guys. A bit about me before I spam you with my raps:
I've posted on here before, mainly as a commenter/lurker though. I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome and high-functioning Autism in my Senior Year of High School. It's been a very difficult journey to where I'm writing this post now, but I'm happy to say that I'm 1.) Living on my own; 2.) Employed; 3.) About to graduate from college.
This brings me to why I'm posting. Last year, for better or worse, I started rapping. However, with limited funds (as in nothing), buying a real microphone felt like an extraneous purchase. It felt ridiculous, especially considering that I wasn't that serious about rapping. So, for s**ts and giggles, I recorded it all through my laptop's microphone and, after about a year of this, I compiled the results in a self-released mixtape ("Laptop Rap").
However, something was happening. What had started off as a joke was quickly transitioning into a challenge -- I didn't like my mixtape. It had its moments, but overall I wasn't satisfied. So over the summer, I attempted to "take rapping seriously". And here I am.
There are parts on here that I feel like people with Asperger's Syndrome will specifically relate to. Sometimes not even in literal lyrics, but just general feeling (track 5 'syndrome', a lot of the more angry parts of the album). I was really trying to be as authentic with myself as possible and I hope it shows in the material. I've uploaded it three places. You can stream it on YouTube, download individual songs on SoundCloud or download the whole thing at once on DatPiff. Lyrics are posted on both YT and SC.
Thanks for your time/consideration.
