So, the idea of this thread is to post an idea or a seed for works of fiction. Naturally, the reason I am posting this thread is because I lack interesting ideas for fiction, so I don't have anything for you.

Person X goes on a trip through a rainforest. There he discovers a new kind of plant. The plant turns out to be eatable, tasty, healthy, able to cure cancer, good for some industrial use and so on. X wants to try and cultivate the plant. But it turns out tricky to mix the right soil and symbiotic plants/animals in a greenhouse.
Before he finds a solution, an international corporate group buys the rainforest to drive away the native inhabitants, burn the trees, dig for oil and/or grow Monsanto soy.
Person X has to save the forest or find a quick solution to grow the wonderful plant in his greenhouse. That's where the story begins...
