Hey y'all. Some friends and I have begun a collaborative zine graphic novel and are looking to people who would be interesting in beta-ing scripts (or just bounce ideas off of), and possibly people who would be interested in more intense collaboration (artistic or writing).

The graphic novel is a mostly-realistic "what if" kind of story, though it is inspired by a lot of direct life experience. It is about a lot of things, autism, homelessness, abuse, and is meant to be something of a self-critique of "radical" political and social spaces.

The story centers around a nearly-sixteen year old boy, who lives with his inactive LDS family in Salt Lake City, Utah. He and his younger sister are autistic and have epilepsy (which has been successfully managed with medication), and their extreme biomed parents are constantly putting them through new protocols of the latest in autism quackery. He is two months into a new high school and is mostly miserable.
This kid is obsessed with freight trains and railroad management, and has started a new interest in labor icon Joe Hill. He is also becoming more aware of his emerging (queer) sexuality. After his school and home life begin to fall apart and his parents threaten to send him to an abusive boarding school and/or put him on the Lupron protocol, he decides to put his extensive railway knowledge to use and runs away from home...

If this sounds remotely interesting to you, send me a pm or respond here with any questions.
