Just wondering. These hobbies don't really fit anywhere else.

Cooking is a culinary art.
Gardening is a horticultural art.
They both have galleries and practitioners who make a fortune practicing them.
Any questions?

If you approach it as an art, than yes. If you are just like growing and making food, than not really.

Gardening is an art, if you're talking about garden design, choosing and placing plants for the aesthetics, their smells, etc. Then there's the hard landcaping, e.g. paving and decking, postioned for their practicalities, but also for the pleasure of looking out at something that's just appealing. Even mowing the lawn can be arty, if you care about how the finished result looks. I also think cooking is an art form, especially if you're like me and design your own recipes. Baking is partly a science, as is cooking, but accuracy isn't as important with cooking, except for safety purposes. But, designing, decorating and choosing the flavours to combine is art.

I think this would be the right forum for discussions about them. But, cooking could be discussed in the health forum and gardening could be discussed in the science forum. It just depends on the topic.
