Hello fellow fanfiction writers, today I would like to share with you a glimpse into a series of fanfiction crossover novels I intend to write. It takes place during and after the apocalypse where eventually a long forgotten demonic lord takes over the earth. People of all races and countries (from Cuba to South Africa, from the United States to Russia) are his slaves and soldiers (pretty bleak huh?). Everyone else is either part of the resistance, or they're scavengers picking off what's leftover from the old world.
I'll fast forward a bit, basically, the main characters were able to hold off an invasion of their home area, but were forced to evacuate, the main characters are cuttoff from the group, and end up in a portal that takes them to the magical World of Equestria. The main characters try to warn the locals about a coming invasion, but the warnings are not heeded, and sometime later, the invaders come.
There will also be indigineous humans in the MLP world as well. If anyone has watched a few episodes of MLP GEN 1 (don't) you'll see that there are indeed humans in that world, most notably a young squire who wants to be a knight. I have a theory about why this is, but that will be off topic. Basically these indigineous humans haven't gone beyond the middle ages, and still have knights that fight on horseback. So basically I'll show you their individual tactics:
Knight's Battle Tactics: The knights charge straight into enemy lines, while crossobowmen support the knights (archers are not allowed on the battlefield, as they aren't of noble blood), when the knights have broken through, the dismounted knights will charge forward to find an honorable opponent to face in single combat (once more, peasants aren't allowed on the battlefield, as their lack of noble blood will taint the field of battle). The oeverall goal isn't to kill the other knight, as many are in fact related to another, or have road to battle with one another. Instead they are captured, and ransomed.
Invader's Tactics: Tanks smash the lines, infantry support the tanks armed with ak-47s to shotguns and machetes, snipers take out the officers, artillery smash positions, while the helicopters destroy enemy positions. The goal here to to destroy every single man who dares resists the invader's will.
As you can see, this clash of cultures, as well as technology, will prove to be the indiginous human's undoing. Sort of like the Aztecs and the Spanish Conquistadors. The reason the battle between these knights and invaders was explained, was to give you an idea of how the novels will play out. There will also be a scorched earth policy, where the invaders destroy absolutely everything they can to deny the ponies and their allies food. Overtime the invaders will ally themselves with Equestria's enemies: diamond dogs, changelings, griffons, etc.
Basically these novels are about war, tragedy, and two romances to further the plot, all with a flavoring of dark humor at the situation. I also intend to put some philosophical questions in there about what is good and what is evil? Do we perceive somethign as evil because we're constantly being told it's evil? Or is it evil due to genuine bad intentions?
I hope what I have said before will intrigue you all into reading these novels as they come out in the near future.
