I'm English, but since I was a teenager I've always liked an unusual number of Welsh musicians, mostly of the psych variety. I mean, Welsh stuff was briefly in fashion when I was teenager, and I went mad on it. I stopped listening to it really when I was 16 and got into 60s rock and soul. Listening back now, I realise how good a lot of 90s Welsh pop was. I think it's because I got into John Cale more recently, which made me re-evaluate my teenage listening habits.

Post music by Welsh people in here! You can put Tom Jones or Duffy or whatever on here, but weirdness is especially appreciated.

And you have to include these lot (I had an embarrassingly huge obsession with them as a teen- though they did go quite s**t for a long time):

They aren't weird, but they certainly are Welsh.

Of course you have to include the Manics!

Presumably your teenage years didn't include Journal For Plague Lovers (the long awaited follow up to The Holy Bible using lyrics left by Richey)

Journal for Plague lovers is a fine album.

Cate Le Bon wasn't around when I was teen either, but she's awesome. I think she should make an album with John Cale. That would complete my life.

When my daughter was little, she'd sing, "Alagasco, Madagascar..."
Sorry it's not very edgy.

I only know three: Tom Jones, Englebert Humperdink, and Shirely Bassey.

The last is "Welsh" in the same way that Shania Twain is an American Indian- which is good enough for me!

Didnt know that Duffy was Welsh.

Wow. I hadn't checked out Gruff's solo stuff (or any of the other SFA members' solo stuff) as it came out after I lost interest in that sort of music. I'll have to check it out. That track you posted was hypnotic.

I'll have to check out McLusky as well because from what I just heard, they sound like The Fall (consider that a compliment).

Also, not really known as a Welsh band, even though two members hail from/grew up from there:

Ian Kilminster 'Lemmy', ( Grew up in Benllech, Anglesey North Wales, and Amlwch)

Phil Campbell (Pontypridd)

More culturally significant Welsh metal.
