No idea. I took a fenix as an avatar since it's a symbol of overcoming problems and start again from ashes, as many times as necesary.

OK. The firebird has a different kind of story. But the images used are similar and just as striking.

Yeap, well, you're right. It's not exactly a fenix but a firebird... but there's not many nice fenix images on internet, so I took this one. I swap it with the other one I use, here (which is really a fenix, not a firebird).

And the first part of "Through the pupils of goats" kind of sounds like a lost Pram track so if you like that then you'll like Pram:

I don't know what you like though :)

Mainly instrumental music and all kind of folk. My all-time favourite is Mike Olfield, though I like other composers as Tiersen, or Rodrigo Leao. It's not that easy to find good instrumental composers out of orchestral soundtracks.

Liked Pram too :D

A composer you could like:

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! :D
I don't know of that many composers (not even the famous ones) even though I mostly listen to instrumentals so I'll look those up. Though I think of "composers" as something else than the "bands" or "producers" I listen to so maybe it's a semantic thing and I know of lots of composers? :)

I think you'll like this one, just cause it's good and this is what I think of when I think composer:

All his music is copyright free (under a creative commons license) too and available here: incompetech.com

Wow they are so happy! I think I know of 2 artists you would love, if that's your thing; Explosions in the sky and Ulrich Schnauss. These are 2 of my all-time favs:

(it gets happier 5 minutes into the tune)

And I like that Dresden Dolls song! Amanda Palmer is one cool lady. I can kind of see how you made the connection :)

Wow! Liked specially the second one! I heard before about Explosions in the sky, but never checked it.

Perhaps you like Akiko Shikata, not very known

Music Go Music is not instrumental, but perhaps you like them, they have a kind of air to progressive rock

And do you know this one?

And another happy one:

And this one, just because I love it:

You should or you're missing out. Their songs often take a long time to really start, and they use sudden shifts of tempo a lot. Just a word of warning :)

I heard of Divinyls first when their frontwoman died recently, it kind of sounds like this:

Nice instrumental part in this one! :D

And by the way, another 'Crystal Palace' song. Indeed, this song was in the first album I ever bought, an old vinyl I lost time ago. But I love this song. Advice: listen it with earphones:

Really liked both of them. I was listening a couple more of Dougan in youtube, it reminds me to Moby, don't know why. Hammock, was checking in youtube too. I'm get something from them to listen this weekend.

Do you know this group?

And Rodrigo Leao? He's not very know out of the south of Europe. This song gives me goosebumps.

Heheee, I know well Jarre, he was very popular when I was young. (Damn, I felt old! )

Oldfield is amazing. All his albums until Five Miles Out, in the 82, were masterpieces. After that, well, he had his moments.

So glad I can spread the love! :D
"The earth is not a cold dead place" and "Take care, take care, take care" are the best Explosions in the sky albums, to me. :)

I love that, I'm going to be busy listening trough so much now thanks to you! :) My father especially likes that kind of music, but I don't know of that many artists in that genre (or whatever the genre even is) so would appreciate some advice so I can show it to him (mail me a list of names or something).

Whoa I understand why. Never heard of him but will check him out! He sounds like many other artists I listen to.

I like the instrumental version of Rob Dougan's album "Furious Angels", it's also he who made this track from the movie The Matrix

I like Hammocks album "Departure songs" the best, but they're all good.
If you get Spotify you can listen to all of them right away, and with good quality. I like owning things too, but Spotify is really nice.. Just about all the songs in the known universe can be found there, and ready to stream (with a monthly fee, but there's a free version with lower quality and lots of commercial-breaks) :) https://www.spotify.com/‎

I actually thought that about Jarre when I posted it, that you've probably heard about him  One of his was actually one of the first albums I bought, not because he was particularly trendy right then but because I had heard that tune I just linked on the (awesome) televised "millennium" new years show he did :)
I will listen to the early albums of Mike Oldsfield then, I like what I've heard this far :)

And here's God is an astronaut (so so so good) and The Glitch Mob just because I like them:

I can put some groups here.

By the way, didn't know Fous De La Mer, and didn't know how could I miss them. LOVE IT. :D

Mail you later.

With regard to celtic music.

Gwendal es a classic, but they only had three or four good albums (the first ones). Quite a coincidence, it happens as with Oldfield, the early 70s albums are the good ones.

In general, the best celtic groups are the irish ones. Specially from the 90s-00s, They're literally hundreds of them, quite difficult to choose. They're famous ones as Altan, Solas, Capercaillie, and so, but it's likely that all of them will sound kind of similar to you, so, instead of doing a list, I think is better to give some different ideas:

# For a 'standard' popular celtic group, I would suggest Altan.

# For the typical quick flute melodies celtic sound, Flook.

# For a celtic+jazz style, the classical one is Nightnoise. The White Horse Sessions is a very nice live album.

# For some Breton music (celtic music from the french Bretagne), you have Gwendal. Another classical one, even more breton, is Tri Yann.

# For nice sad melodies, Phil Cunningham is a genius. He has great tunes in soloist albums or in the Relativity and Silly Wizard groups.

# For commercial but nice done new age celtic, Celtic Woman:

# To hear when drunk, The Pogues, The Dubliners or Flogging Molly.

# For not celtic, but celtic inspired music, Loreena McKennitt. She's incredibly talented.

# For a typical irish pub live music & beers group, Gaelic Storm

# For beautiful and relaxing new age celtic instrumental music, Bill Whelan
