I did this with acrylics. It's not a brilliant photo, the lines are reflections in the glass.

Yes, I will post more, I've stuck them up in the loft for now, they were taking over the place LOL, I'll root them out and photograph them. :)

Praise as follows: It looks really awesome. I like how the leaves seem to be coming out of the painting.

Constructive criticism: The flower disc itself seems to be a little flat. Try adding more shadows on and around it to get more of a three-dimensional effect. Also, the top leaf on the left-hand side (when facing the painting) appears to have a flower petal coming through the middle of it.

nice

Is that on glass (for a window?) or ceramics?

Is the crossed petals (like interlocked fingers) symbolic, or just how it is?

It's on canvas paper, the glass of the frame is giving it a few weird reflections.
I did it from a photo and there were some crossed petals, but I exaggerated them and added a couple to make it look less 'perfect'.

Ahayes, your smiley face is brilliant, it made me smile when I saw it.

Thanks for your suggestions Namiko. I was thinking the disc looks a bit flat compared to the leaves. They looked like that in the photo and I have darkened the shadows a little. I am always up for a little constructive criticism :)

I'm glad you don't take offense at it. I've known some people who are in art and cannot deal with constructive criticism (even when said very kindly), so I have to almost wonder how they'll do in their persuit of art.

hi Starr, very nice painting, you definitely have talent!

small tip: when taking pictures, put some light at the side, that way the painting will be lit and the glass won't be reflected in your photos :)

keep up the excellent work!
