Hey.I'm writing a book called "The Aspies" and it's fiction.I hope that I can get it published. Here are the charries of the Aspie gang and my questions for them:

Name:Haylie Zoarman
age:13
role in story:Main charrie
other:The book is told from Haylie's ponit of view. She likes to read and write and she can sing and play the keyboard. She dresses like a punk and she has 3 earrings, one in each ear lobe and one in her left cartilege. She is naturally a very happy person.
questions:I was just wondering if making her dress like a punk and having 3 earrings was OK for an Aspie.Because you know how most of us don't like tight or low-cut dress and earrings sometimes irritates people.Would an Aspie be most likely to do that? And since she's a happy person, but she's not socially skilled. Is that right?

Also, there are 7 members in this group:5 guys and 2 girls, one of them bieng Amy.

As you know this takes place in a school of 800 people, and there is the bullies.I will probally ask for help on certain little things, but I was just making sure, because I didn't want to make AS look bad or mix it up with something else.

Great, a book. I guess it would be okay to make the fictional character dress as a punk, because everyone is supposed to be different, allthough the thing that unites us/makes us the same is AS.
I guess she could be a happy person too, without beeing very social.
Did you mean wearing thight clothes? Seems pretty normal to wear low-cut stuff if she is a girl (that's how I dress) but I don't know about the earrings, that is if we are talking about a fictional character that is supposed to be very real life like..
I wanna write a book too, its just I can never get more than a few pages, then the story tends to get very boring...

Sounds great and good luck with it.

Now you have thought he main character and setting, perhaps you should think of the themes and points you want to address.

Dressing as a punk would be ok, i can imagine a lot of aspies dress as punks (outcast groups). I also think its ok for her to be very happy. I mean im really happy when im on my own and away from social contact, or some people might try to be happy all the time to shield themselves.

I think a book is a great idea!
:D
But, it would be a good idea to have more than one character be an aspie so it doesn't seem like your stereotyping. Maybe a humorous, male counterpart to show what a guy aspie is like. If your trying to show the differences and similarities between NT and AS it would be more understandable with an example for both genders. Sorry if I sound impolite, it's just a thought.

... or having one aspie character emphasises the concept of 'wrongplanet' and having an isolated life from society. Perhaps the central character can meet another aspie later on in the story ?

Dont mind me, just giving suggestions

Bullies? Sorry, can't relate. And you need a better title in my opinion, yours sounds like it's separating AS people rather than making them similar to NT people. I'd reccommend saving the naming till you go through the storyline pretty far.

I think your book sounds like a great idea!! I wish I could right stories. It seems there are many on this board that are able to create some excellent things.

Here is what I thought, I hope I am not out of line.

What about a group of Aspies that hang out together. And you could give them all different characteristics that encompasses the range that we tend to come in.

I like what Elfman said, maybe you can ask us for descriptions of ourselves and use some of those for your characters. There are some interesting people here.

Excellent idea, I was also thinkin of making a story about AS. More than likely I will make it into a Musical or an Opera lol I do off the wall stuff. good luck with that

I'm actually writing a book where the main character and narrarator has AS. Hey, SpaceCase, what if in the beginning none of them knew each other, but they all met somehow? I dunno...that's just an idea. ;)

A full description? You could just read every post by me. Well, I might have to do this when I have more time. A survey would be nice.
