Yes, Robert Guillaume did. Oh man, that was almost 20 years ago when I saw that in L.A. I didn't think he was very good.
I have only heard Michael Crawford on the soundtrack, but would have liked to have seen him live. I voted for Michael.
And for the sexiness/ickiness factor combined, Gerard Butler! I can't help but imagine the Phantom as being somehow attractive, despite the Lon Chaney version being more faithful to how Gaston Leroux described him as opposed to handsome Gerard.
Didn't Charles Dance play the Phantom, too, for a made-for-tv movie?
