I haven't listened to nearly as much classical music as I should've, but I lately discovered Tristan Perich, who's a modern artist who's doing some classical-style music.

I need to listen to some more orchestral/symphonic music really; I mostly only listen to piano stuff at the moment.

Nothing beats the 9th by Ludwig Van... at least in my book, the CD format is set to its average length

This is my favorite :) (Though to be technical, it's romantic, not classical. But it's still the type of music most people would call "classical".) I'm also fond of some of the works of Brahms but I can't remember the names at the moment.

Also, Schubert's Erlkonig, which is an art song (a bit off the classical track but of interest to the same listeners), is very powerful and has haunting lyrics.

I meant 'classical' in that sense i.e. Western Art Music; none of my choices were really classical.

I could listen to Glenn Gould's interpretation of La Valse a million times. I love that song. Glenn Gould never ceases to amaze me. Gotta love Ligeti's Atmospheres, as well.
