Does anybody write poetry here?

I do. But I'm not some kind of emo.

It helps me think writing about myself in poetry.

I write song lyrics for a music project I'm doing with a friend... They usually start as poems then we adapt them into musical form.

i do, too. but i tell you one thing - don't try to impress a girl by writing a poem for her. romance is dead...

I do. Most of my work is crap, though occasionally it contains a good idea or two. It serves two purposes: entertainment (writing poetry is fun), and introspection (writing poetry helps me do that more effectively).

On occasion, though I don't take it seriously. It's mostly a way to shake out the writing muscles that I use for stories.

I used to post on a poetry forum but most of the stuff i do is rubbish, i get obsessed with rhyming the same sound over and over and over, or repeatedly using the same number of syllables on every line, so it all ends up nonsensical.

well, I may disagree with you in this
I write poems for girls , and they are all impressed , but they leave in the end :lol:

Don't sweat it, i was using hyperbole. That site will come in very helpful, now i don't have to go through the entire alphabet trying to find words that rhyme, i just have to make sure i don't go overboard, self control is not my forte. :wink:
