I grew up listening to gangster rap mostly, some R & B. My image was that of the typical hip-hop head who came of age in the late 1990's-early 2000's. Now that I am older, I hate the devolution of hip-hop. A friend of mine introduced me to some punk/alternative music. I feel that this is more in keeping with my character. I hate society and like to be a pest. I am weird, threatening (yet not necessarily dangerous), my humor is pretty sacrilegious, sarcastic, satirical, and I have to be different than everyone everyone else. Honestly, I would have to say I am probably goth. I like the really sad, dark songs from the early 80's. I also like the minimalism and do-it-yourself ethic. It is very similar to underground hip hop. I am an amateur songwriter and I have made some punk songs (kind of like Suicide because I play the keyboards). Anybody else like punk/alternative music? If so, which bands? Any other black punks?
