As a piano/keyboard and Ukulele player I'm toying with the idea of starting to learn another physical instrument (I also like to sing but that's NO hardware lol).
So I've been fascinated with those electronic drum sounds and rythm making, since I can't play any supportive rhytmical instrument (bass, percussion, etc.)
Any guys here play drums? I would really like a set (beginner, no need for more than 3 toms) that would have some vintage sounds in its brain (like 80s analog sets, drum machines and maybe some acoustics too for good measure). What do you guys play on and which set would you recommend me to consider? Budget wise I am not that limited but again as I'm thinking of an entry level set it wouldn't cost that much, right?
I saw the Roland TD-4KP which looks good but I doubt it has the sounds I want. (that punchy 80s sound, like those synthpop bands).
So any of you guys know how hard would be to learn drums? I have absolute hearing (which would benefit me... basically nothing), and a pretty good understanding of what each drum part do and when to use it (kick, snare... etc). The thing I need to work on for sure is coordination and speed. and who knows what else.
