tragic time to be stuck in, and some of those songs are tragic.
That said, my opinion is far from objective.
If you like a genre, music form a certain period, or whatever then that's what you like and it's personal, and that's okay.
I like a lot of different stuff, from baroque music, to some hip hop, hard rock, dance music, punk, some older commercial music, and even some county music (gagging as I realise what I've admitted to).
if you like music it's because somehow it speaks to you, or you relate it to a time or experience in your life.
Just don't be closed off to other genres or periods of time; true enough a lot of the current popular music, as well as the cultural phenomenon of "talent shows" is pretty dull, and lifeless, not to mention shallow and meaningless compared to some other stuff.
On the other hand some of the best music makes little or no sense.
Little Richard is considered classic Rock n Roll, but wop bop a lu op a lop bamboo doesn't mean anything in any language.
I guess just be happy you have music to listen to that you enjoy.
Some people don't like music at all, and to me that would be as alien as having 2 heads!
