Concept but not the words
I want to start a new zine I'm calling Brain Chainz. I am usually a good writer, but I'm having a hard time coming up with a basic description for the zine. I want to do writing and comics based on the concept of free thinking, with emphasis on relationships, especially alternative romantic relationships and relationships with one's own body, and also sort of a discussion on other societal norms. My thought is, we don't simply accept or reject such norms, as we are not necessarily consciously aware of them. We generation Y like to think ourselves enlightened and more open-minded, but I want to challenge readers to get in touch with their own personal truth. It is one thing to recognize the validity of something, and another to actively ask yourself how you really feel and your visceral reactions to things outside the norm-- that we sometimes either conform or rebel based not on our personal truth, but on how we wish to be perceived. We find it hard to admit our hangups, for fear of appearing closed-minded, instead of admitting them and deciding to work through them. Likewise, we may convince ourselves we only conform due to personal choice, not acknowledging outside pressure. Or possibly we defend our poor decisions as personal choice or freedom so we can remain in denial. We may also conform to a certain group or even individual whom we respect or admire, so instead of forming our own views, we accept anything that is dictated to us through this group or figure. Just some rambly-thoughts that I'm trying to wrap up in a short paragraph as a description for the zine, but I'm having trouble making these thoughts coherent.

The status is NOT quo!
Descriptive writing is often stunningly difficult for people on the ASD spectrum.
Someone with a high attention to detail may not understand what information is adequate for people with average or less than average (or desire for) attention to detail.
In one episode of Red Dwarf they try repeatedly to explain a temporal anomaly to Cat (felis sapient) who finally shows understanding, "Oh! It's a magic door! Why didn't you say?!"
One of my biggest* life accomplishments was breaking that barrier, though I don't always pull it off.
*wrong word but close enough

(14.01.b) cogito ergo sum confusus
I'm trying to summarize a broad concept instead of hashing every detail, as I want to leave room for various content, so I don't want to restrict myself with too much detail, but I do want to construct a basic line of thought that might appeal to readers who find themselves curious about their own interactions with others and reactions to social norms in various subjects, such as relationships, health, beauty, education, family, art, and medicine. I want to steer clear of religion and politics, as these are far too divisive to me to generate any thoughtful discourse, and are generally much more a matter of individual values than something that can be pinned on biology, psychology, or society, if that makes sense. I would say that my "mission" is to facilitate constructive consideration of issues and help provide exposure to options or concepts one may have not considered, as unbiased as possible, to allow readers to come to grasp with their own thoughts and feelings on a subject they may have made assumptions about in the past. It is something that would help me too, of course-- I don't see myself as some enlightened sage, just a potential facilitator of consideration.
