Interesting connection with a specific band, anyone else?
I wanted to post this little story about how I feel i have some very strong interesting connections with the pop punk band Simple Plan. First of all, I'm the same age and have the same first name as the lead singer however mine is Peter and his is Pierre since they are French-Canadian. I'm going to break up some of the similarities and the music videos that pertain to each.
I was originally introduced to their music back in 2005 because they have a music video with the same kind of car that i own. A 1995 Pontiac Trans Am. The song is about drunk driving but it also has a "why is my life this way?" feel to it.
Untitled (how could this happen to me?)

Here's a pic of my car as it currently sits. Back when the song was released, it had the same wheels and non ram air hood as the one in the video. i actually test drove a silver one just like the one in the video before i bought mine
A year later i had a nervous breakdown on my birthday in july 2006 and within a day or so of that, i heard this song, Welcome to my Life, which i feel like i could have written myself. It's likely this song kept me from doing something drastic back then because it showed me other people are going through the same things i am.

now here's where it goes from coincidental to downright eerie.
On november 18th, 2010 i was on Simple Plan's website reading about how they had just finished recording the songs for the upcoming album "get your heart on". My father passed away from a sudden heart attack later that night. Fast forward to father's day 2011 and i was again on SP's website streaming the unreleased album when this song literally stopped me in my tracks and i broke down. It's about losing a loved one and how that can effect you. Interestingly enough, there is a song on that album called "this song saved my life" which i thought was going to be the song i felt the most connection to since I'm pretty sure "welcome to my life" kept me from killing myself in 2006, but Gone too soon became a song i really related to. it put into words how i felt after my dad passed away.

Still related to gone too soon, some friends of mine, who coincidently own a 69 roadrunner which is near identical to a car seen in the video for the song below "I'm just a kid". its the orange car the hood falls down on and crushes chuck, the drummer's hand.
Well a few months ago they posted how a friend of theirs out in washington state (we live in florida but they are from there) was killed in a tragic bicycle accident. he was in his early 20s. I posted something to the effect of "I'm sorry for your loss" and posted the gone too soon song. Well, the next day, my friend posts the name of the person who was killed. His last name was Comeau. That's not a very common name but it does happen to be the same last name as Chuck, Simple Plan's drummer, who's hand was crushed by the 69 roadrunner. What are the odds of that??????? like i said eerie coincidences.

I actually met the band at Vans Warped tour in 2011. Less than a week before i met them, they were doing a Vlog chat and i happened to post a question about a contest they were doing about making a poster to win a guitar. Well i happen to use BLK1995TA as my twitter ID and they read my question during the video and actually stopped and commented about the name asking if i was born in 1995 and how interesting the name was. i was able to explain to them what it meant at the meet and greet.
it's in this video at the 10:20 mark

Another time i was driving home from a car show and "untitled" was on the radio and i ended up getting pulled over for speeding. i posted something about it on twitter in response to one of the band members posts about how something ironic happened to him while hearing one of his songs on the radio. it was ironic for me because it was the car in the music video for that song and speeding could have caused a crash (although i wasn't really going that fast)
The final one (and i've skipped some that weren't as crazy) was a few months back. My sister used to live in Allentown, PA and Simple Plan was there doing a radio show with an accustic concert and they did a Q&A before the show. I had asked them about when they would be doing their next tour. Well i used my real name and for some weird reason, Pierre again made an interesting comment when he asked "Peter. Peter Griffin?"
The question is at the 4:15 mark

What's really ironic about this is just a few days before this, the whole george zimmerman verdict thing was going around FB and people were fighting about it and i posted a funny family guy clip where brian says peter is pissing him off more than when he watched the oj verdict with his old roommate and they pull guns on each other. so to have my favorite band's lead singer refer to me as peter griffin only a few days later was very ironic. a day or so after the video i was listening to seb's radio show (seb is the guy on the right in the vid, pierre on the left) and i posted something on FB about "wax on wax off" from the karate kid and less than 20 minutes later he is making jokes on the radio show about catching flies with chopsticks, another KK reference.... weird.
so to sum up. I have several coincidences with the band Simple Plan, have actually met them, and their music may have actually saved my life.
Has anyone else had such a deep connection with a certain band and or song?
