There was a type a quirky bouncy pop that flourished during the New Wave era. The videos would be on MTV a few times, "New Music/Alternative" stations like WLIR and KROQ would play them incessantly for about two weeks then the song and usually the group would quickly disappear until YouTube brought them back. Intellectually and musically were cringe-worth but they were somehow irresistible to me anyway because I was just as awkward and cringe-worthy as them. I am very glad there was not camaras everywhere back then to record me "dancing" to these songs in my room
