In this part the story is shifted over to AMA Sgt.Marcus Maxwell of FROST Company. I've decided to follow the Tom Clancy style of writing and alternate between multiple characters to show their viewpoint and perspective about what is going on. I come back to the other characters afterwards and take turns with each character.

This part is about Sgt.Marcus on patrol in the the city below the mountains where the command bunker is stationed. The AMA have been patrolling around to protect Myza from invasions by the CCI, only now a much bigger threat looms over them all.

Sgt. Marcus treaded through the snow blanketed streets of Myza on his routine patrol through the city. Despite the weather being almost unbearably cold, many Myzans went about their day paying little attention to the conditions. In fact many of them seemed overjoyed it was snowing. As Marcus strode about observing the people for any signs of suspicious activity, he could see people moving about, commerce being done, and even children playing in the snow and tossing snowballs at each other.

To Marcus this was a heartwarming and pleasant sight, to see people not alarmed by his presence and feel protected under the AMA. Truth be told many Moebians did indeed want to do the right thing and live with other societies’ in peace, yet the way they went about doing so often lead to conflict. It was as if they were born to be violent, even against their own will to do so.

Marcus patrolled around and inspected any place of particular interest, without trying to be too disruptive into the affairs of the Turantans he came into contact with. An odd thing is even though the Turantans had the same anatomy and animalistic features as the Moebians, many of them appeared as tall as humans. This was good for Marcus as he would be able to spot anyone looking suspicious in a crowd, and Marcus didn’t appear as threatening as he truly could be. Still the AMA had made its’ presence known on Turanta so just having on his uniform and sidearm was still somewhat unnerving.

“Maybe after patrol, I can go snowboarding.” Marcus thought in his head.

Just then he felt something hit him in the leg. Marcus quickly turned around and pulled out his laser pistol. To his surprise it was merely a young Myzan boy who tossed a snowball at him. Marcus laughed and put his gun back in its’ holster.

“Nice toss lil’ dude, but let me show you how it’s done!” Marcus said as he quickly made a snowball.

The kid tossed another snowball at him, but Marcus dodged to the left and tossed it light to the kid’s chest. The young boy got hit in the chest and was stunned at how fast Marcus moved and was able to counter hit him.

“Best snowball warrior in my unit.” Marcus proclaimed trying to show off.
The boy’s father went over and clung to him. Marcus could see in his eyes he was worried about his son.

“He is young, he didn’t know any better.” Said the father trying to explain the reason behind the kid’s actions.

“No sweat dude.” Marcus replied in a calm and amused tone.

“Need’s to work on his aim though, grazed me on the side.” Marcus said while patting the side of his leg.

“It’s all cool though, as you were civilians.” Marcus said trying to sound professional.

The father and his son soonwalked off. Marcus typed into his log databank “suppressed by kid armed with snowball.” Marcus texted while laughing and walking on. It reminded him of the time he tossed a snowball at his commander, although that ended up with him getting a reprimand.

“Had to scrub the toilets for a month, was totally worth it though.” Marcus said to himself as he laughed.

Marcus continued on his patrol until he was done. The snow started to intensify and many Turantans went indoors to keep warm. Marcus thought of doing the same, or at least to go back to the mountains to snowboard. Marcus decided he should contact Balta to ask if he could to Return to Base.

Marcus turned on his communicator device again, but for some reason it said the signal was being jammed and he couldn’t text back that he finished his patrol. Marcus thought that perhaps the weather was to blame, so he tried turning on voice communication to see if he could at least make some noise for them to pick up.

“Marcus to command, I am all done with my patrol. Can one of you dudes come and pick me up?” Marcus said into the speaker. Yet he didn’t hear anything, not even static.

“Odd, I thought these things were the latest models. Oh well, I will just go inside and hang with someone until the storm is over.” Marcus said to himself as he turned off his communicator and turned around to ask if he could stay inside somewhere for the duration of the snow storm.

As he walked something in the snow caught him in the corner of his eye. It appeared to be a laser beam moving on the snow towards him. Marcus’s instincts kicked in. It could only mean one thing, as laser sight.

Marcus grabbed his Yogger Y-77 laser pistol from his holster and turned around to aim. He saw the dot shine on his chest. Marcus immediately hit the dirt to avoid the shot. He heard what appeared to be a green laser blast zip right over his head. Marcus couldn’t wait for a second shot to be fired. He aimed where the beam came from and fired back. He saw something move and he turned on his thermal visors to pursue his would be assailant.
Marcus rushed towards the assassin. Marcus felt that the attacker was none other than the CCI Major Fenris. Fenris met FROST Company before and was able to suppress his squad, and engage Batla in a sniper duel. However Marcus was curious why Fenris would come after him personally. Fenris had been laying low for months now, why come after him now?

Marcus was able to catch up a bit, he could see a thermal image, but it was extremely blurry. He couldn’t afford to miss a shot as it might hit a civilian inside a house. All he could to is hope he corned Fenris in one of the alleyways. To Marcus’s luck he saw the image head towards a dead end. Marcus got behind the outer wall of the alleyway he saw the figure go behind. He peeked inside and saw nothing. He knew this would be a good ambush spot, but he had to bring Fenris out in the open.

“Oh well, I am usually the bait anyway.” Marcus thought to himself.

Marcus moved into the alleyway and sure enough he saw a dot on the wall. Marcus turned around saw a glow on the rooftop. Marcus took the shot and hit the attacker.

To his surprise however the attacker wasn’t Fenris, it was a strange robotic probe. It flew up, and then crashed in the snow a few meters from his position. Marcus rushed over while aiming his gun and shot at what appeared to him as the weapon that fired upon him disable it.

As he moved closer and closer while aiming his gun he became more and more curious. It wasn’t anything he ever saw before. While he saw many probes with weapons. It’s design, carvings, and components didn’t look Turantan.

Marcus walked up close to it. He could see people crowding around in curiosity. However he heard what appeared an alien language, and heard what appeared to be the probe’s motor overheating.

“Everyone get back, it’s going to blow!” Marcus said as people moved away.

Sure enough the probe exploded. Sending Marcus back to the wall, while he was alive he did indeed feel pain. He got up to check if everyone was alright. Fortunately everyone around him seemed to be fine, if not afraid and worried.

“This day just got more interesting.” Marcus said under his breath in the cold snow.
