The once calm and laidback atmosphere in the station was now gone for good. AMA forces were on the clock trying to get the native populations in Myza to the underground shelters, and to set up what little defenses they could for the unknown, but expected assault. The main problem was that AMA forces were spread out in the city and without proper communications, they would be on their own until they either reestablished communications, or came in contact with each other again.

“Alright, who is charge here? I mean at this station, not me or the colonel over there.” Patrik asked

“I am sir!” said a Moebian polar bear walked forward and saluted.

“Captain Drudge at your service sir!” The big polar bear said waiting for orders.

“Alright Captain, I am putting you in charge of getting the civilians around this area to safety. Take the men under your command and keep my people safe, is that clear soldier?” Patrik said.

“Sir, yes sir!” The polar bear said.

“Get to it then.” Patrik said as he relived the bear to go help the civilians.

“Unfortunately, the colonel is a bit out of herself at the moment, so I will be helping us with the defenses. What intel do we have on those things out there?” Patrik asked.

“None sir, except we have seen that they have ships.” One of the soldier replied.

“Well then we need to prepare what little surface to air weapons we have, and we need to form a permitted around the cities shelters and this station. Take any flares or flashlights you have. Also make sure you are prepared to fight in the snow for a while.” Patrik said.

“Sir yes sir!” The soldiers said.

“Good, now let’s move it Frost!” Patrik said recalling what Field Leader Trotsky would tell his the members of this company.

The AMA soldiers hustled to carry out their orders, most of them were by no means inexperienced. In fact many of them prided themselves on being the fastest and first into battle ahead of other AMA divisions. Yet they usually were on the offensive, the defense of this world would be a test for the Fighting First.

Balta had started to come back out of her hangover. She was cranky and mad at Patrik, yet at least she was able to be cognitive and help assess the situation. She got out of the chair and stormed over to Patrik.

“Patrik? What is going on here?” the hedgehogs hear being shrieked into his mind.

“Balta!” Patrik said as he turned around.

“We are under attack. Our communications are being cut and we have to get the civilians to a safer location.” Patrik said

“Ugh! That is the last time I let you talk me into anything.” Balta put into his mind telepathically.

Suddenly and AMA soldier burst into the room. He looked like he was panting, and needed time to catch his breath.

“Ma…Ma’am you better come out here.” The soldier said.

“What is it?” Balta said telepathically to the soldier in angst due to her still having a withdrawal from the alcohol.

“The…The sky.” The soldier said.

Balta had very little patience for babbling at this point, the alcohol put her in a state she was not used to and all the commotion was not helping her. She walked past the soldier, followed by Patrik outside.

Everyone outside of the station was gazing up into the sky into the abnormally colored sky. They could see three of the invading warships hovering ominously above the city. The AMA soldiers had by no means any firepower strong enough to take all these capital ships out at once without having the city be bombarded by ordinance.

Soon however the ships did something unexpected. Instead of firing upon the denizens of Myza they projected what appeared to be a large holographic message over the city. What appeared next was a giant size holographic figure of what appeared to be a cybernetic humanoid starring down upon the city.

“Greetings all intelligent lifeforms of this planet! I am Administrator Tradd of the glorious Braxxian Empire. Many of you may be wondering why our mighty space vessels are above your very cities right now, but please allow me to explain.

You see your planet has been chosen for a very special honor. We have been observing your world and we would like to extend our galactic greeting to you all. In fact we are here to offer you a chance at evolution! You see many a decade ago our race believed that the best way to evolve ourselves was with our own wonderful cybernetic technology. This in turn allowed our once weak and fleshly society to become a mighty and unified cybernetic utopia.

Since then we Braxxians have dedicated ourselves to helping benefit all life by teaching them the ways of our glorious civilization. Today we come to do just the same with your fortunate world. Provided we first disband any foolish resistance that seeks to oppose our benevolent proposition.” Administrator Tradd said finishing his speech.

“Cyrborgs, always with damn cyborgs. Just like on the prime world” Patrik thought to himself all grouchy.

“We will give your planet sometime to come to us and take us up on our offer. Until then we shall be busy making this planet more secure for our operations. Farewell my soon to be galatic brethren.” Tradd said.

Soon the Braxxian warships started to slowly fly off until they were seen in the distance and then vanish from the horizon. Many AMA soldier and civilian alike where relieved to see they were not just blasted to oblivion just then.

“They’re retreating?” Balta asked Patrik telekinetically in her head.

“No, they are moving to the other parts of the Barunian Bondage, Central and West Barunia. They must know there are more organized resistance there then us right now. “ Patrik said as he sat down and took another smoke.

“How long do you think the other countries can hold out?” Balta asked telekinetically appearing to be more out of her withdrawal.

“Month’s, days, hours. I do not know. Turanta is strong, but I you have to know your enemy to defeat it. “ Patrik said while taking a light.

“Well then, let’s get acquainted.” Balta said.

“We are in no shape to fight Baldrova, you know that. We need to regroup and plan out our defense. I will not have my homeworld fall due to our own incompetence.” Patrik said.

“I know, I just am still out of sorts. This entire day has been a first for me, first getting drunk, first meeting whoever these Braxxians are, and a first in charge of helping aid in the defense of an entire planet from a interplanetary invasion.” Balta replied to him.

“What I can say for certain is the AMA has your back in this one, my Turantan comrade.” Balta said to him telepathically.
