Lyrics to a song I wrote
The lights shone through the darkness
A moment like none before
Desire regained you took my hand
Entwined we head for the floor
Unaware that you could dance
Learning the color of you eyes
Your hand secure around my waist
The strength of warm embrace
You make me laugh your eyes light up
an old photograph stage lights and love
I lost my faith in this simple bliss
but as we spin I begin to believe
Couples and gardens
green leaves and pathways
People were smiling
were you looking for me?
That's all I can remember. I must have throw the lyrics out when I was tidying up. Maybe it's better streamlined this way. I perhaps did myself a favor throwing it away. This is based loosely on the song Desire Regained by the Bathers but with a little story I made up myself. It is about meeting someone you used to have a crush on at a wedding and he asks you to dance and falling for him all over again.
The garden verse at the end is a reference to getting group photos taken at the wedding in a garden and the man and woman in the song being the odd singletons in amongst smiling couples remembering their wedding day. As it turns out these two are not really in love, they just got swept away by the emotion on the day. It's a bitter sweet song. I can't remember what I called it.
