Essentially, it's an allegory about the interaction of Aspie culture and NT culture. It's a little bit longer than Franny and Zoe so it's only a two to three day read. You can read it for free if you have Prime. Check it out. The link is at the bottom. Here's the inside cover description:

When Aksel Lauht loses his father, he decides to lose himself. To circumvent his fate, Aksel hikes deep into the Appalachian Mountains to escape the harsh psychological and financial aftermath of his widower father’s, and sole family member’s, death. Instead of solitude he finds Afiri, an ancient A.I., who gives him a fresh, purposeful existence as well as a glimpse into a world far beyond Aksel’s imagining.

Through Afiri’s narrative a veil is lifted displaying the calamitous history of two diametrically opposed societies. Both cultures are at a precipice, about to be brought to their knees by the evil manipulation of a solitary individual who straddles the border between the pair creating undue animosity amongst those who are more alike than they would like to admit.

Congratulations! :D

Will it also be available in paperback in the future? I ask because I strongly prefer reading on paper. If not, I will still buy it the next time I get an amazon gift card! It sounds really interesting.

I wish it were coming out in paperback. I attempted to sell it to literary agents but it seems all they're interested in are vampires and erotica. So it goes.

I sent this e-mail to Alex Plank yesterday, hopefully he'll reply.

Alex, I'm a school teacher and novelist with Asperger's. Last year I completed a science fiction/dystopian novel about the interaction of our cultures. It's an all ages read with zero sex or foul language (as I would like to make my message as accessible as possible) It's received praise critically but my audience, at the moment, exists outside of the mainstream. So I've published it on Amazon. If you have prime it's free to read or I can provide a .pdf copy. It would be a tremendous help to me for you to read it and if you like it have it posted on the front page of WrongPlanet with an interview. I don't know what other channels to go through to reach a wider Aspie audience. Thank you for your consideration.

Rob

P.S. Here's the link to it's Amazon.com page and a picture of the cover.

OK, I've lowered the price to 2.99. I'd give it away but that's the lowest Amazon will allow me to set the price. There are plenty of threads about poetry and haiku's that have gotten more comments than mine. It seems that a guy who writes a full length novel gets no love on WrongPlanet's writer's forum. How does that happen?

As one unpublished writer to a published one - I HATE YOU!
No, just kidding; great job!

I'd hardly consider myself published. It's a sparse 210 page novel published on Amazon kindle. I tried to get published via agents etc. but all they want is erotica and vampires. I'm working on a sequel. Please purchase a copy and read it. If you like it tell your friends.

Like hell your not a published author! Don't sell yourself short.
And I'm afraid I don't own a kindle, so unless I can convince a friend who does to buy your book, I'm sh*t oughta luck.
