In my novel I have a woman who a harms kids for sexual thrills, she doesn't have sex with them though.

IRL we don't hear too much about these women - but I would think they would exist, Are they just getting away with it?

Anyway, I put this in here because what people believes in books is different from what they would believe if say they were on a real jury and the woman looked all innocent.

If you read a book with a woman who did that, would you believe it (at least as far as "in the story")? Or would it make the book unbelievable for you?

Edited because I erroneously called it pedophilia when there is no sex with the kids involved.

If you read a book with a violent female pedophile, would you believe it (at least as far as "in the story")? Or would it make the book unbelievable for you?

I believe female pedo's are just as common as the male ones. They just aren't reported.

And I believe the violent females are just as common as vioent males, and some of these get reported.

If you care to shock yourself silly, you will find lots of cases on the net.

Yikes. Mine doesn't really have sex though. I misused the word pedophile, wasn't thinking. It's more like sexual gratification from violence against children.

I'm writing a sequel to Tampa as a form of fan fiction and for fun. This book was awesome. The author is an excellent writer.

I think any atrocity committed by humans is in the realm of reality. I can remember when they used to say serial killers were only white males, but that's since gone down the drain.

Really! That's very interesting.

I would have a hard time writing fan fiction, even for my favorite stuff. It would never occur to me to continue the story.

Do you have to follow certain rules and keep within what they wrote already?

I'm going to try to keep it within certain parameters.

It takes place a few years later and Jack Patrick, the 14 year old protagonist who the female pedophile protagonist victimized attempts suicide. He is saved by one of the hostage negotiation teams, Kathryn Santiago, who takes a big risk to save him right before he tries to jump off of a building. She is a X-Altruist.

http://blogs.scientificamerican.com/gue ... -villains/

Based on Jack's history she feels compelled to save Jack from what Celeste, the female pedophile did to him and his mind and she, Kathryn Santiago feels compelled to bring justice to Celeste for what she did to him. Jack still loves Celeste but Celeste regards him as trash now but he is to blind to see that he was just Celeste's toy. Kathryn will take him on a journey to save his very mind and soul and eventually she falls in love with him.

In my series if you were found guilty of such an act you would be immediately terminated while in the court room. In fact one of my fan characters is a child, so if the court finds you guilty he could be allowed to kill you. (He has super strength.)

It happens all the time in real life. People are f****d up. Why wouldn't it be plausible in a novel?

There is a WP person who talks about being sexually abused by an aunt as child. The aunt did NOT 'have sex' with the person (when they were a 10 years old), but what the aunt did was to force the person to have sex with a dog (or a goat or something) while the aunt watched and giggled or something.

Not a pretty story, but it shows that men dont monopolize the sexual abuse of children.

We readers were all horrified on the thread, but we all concluded that the now adult person was beyond the statute of limitions (and ofcourse they didnt have police records or witnesses) so they couldnt do anything legally. But I digress.

There are several cases of female sexual sadists in history, who got sexual pleasure from harming their children. Martha Rendell was a key example. She'd first put something in her children's food to cause a sore throat, and as this was in 1907 and 1908, she would claim she painted the backs of their throats with medicine.

In reality...it was hydrochloric acid. She was convicted of murder and hung. Arresting officer Inspector Harry Mann said "she delighted in seeing her victims writhe in agony, and from it derived sexual satisfaction"
