For several years I have had the ambition to write a musical. I have piddled around with it off and on, but now I am trying to engage myself in this project as much as I can. I feel compelled to complete this thing. To not finish it will give me a sense of failure in life for something I know I can do if I can just keep motivated. My father died last month, and my mother is in a nursing home recovering from a broken hip she suffered on New Years Day. She is also suffering from severe Altzheimer's Disease. I realize the shortness of life, and I don't want to fail with this project.
The musical consists of the standard two acts. Each act has twelve scenes. I have nearly all the music written, with lyrics for several of them completed. I have three scenes completely scripted out with a detailed synopsis for the rest. I have just ordered Poser 10 software so that I can make detailed looking stage sets with Poser characters representing my vision of what the various characters should look like.
I often visualize the scenes of this musical, and I feel like it has the potential to be something great. But I do admit, additional expert help would be nice in making this musical the best it can be. This is not just some silly attempt I am doing. It is an honest attempt at creating something on a major scale.
I just wanted to share something I have been up to as I haven't posted around here much lately. Is there anyone out there with experience in any part of the creation process of a musical? I would enjoy
