I didnt mean to XD I just started writing with the intention of enjoying some creative catharsis and it evolved into 6 pages of work. I'm taking a step back now and thinking of plotlines. I know that my narrative structure is going to consist of the main character being shunted into different individuals' mind throughout the future human civilisation and at every caste of that society. He effectively becomes these individuals. These seemingly disparate threads will be conjoined. Its a tried and test narrative structure but the fact that there is only one protagonist in different guises alters the popular format.
It's set in an empire ruled over by various tyrants who have altered the course of a formerly morally politically and intellectually sophisticated culture plunging it into a sort of dark age but one characterised by technology so advanced as to be indistinguishable from biology. There are no power conduits warp coils etc instead humans (those who dont occupy the slave quarters) have rendered the distinction between tech and biology completely moot.
They have fused with their technology. However the despotic rule has led to total moral and spiritual decay. (yes there is still a thriving religious bent in the far far far future)
This is the society in which the protagonist exists. There is a dominant religion which involves some rather dark stuff which I wont discuss here. There is also no axis power. There is no resistance no armada of ships from some race of superevolved aliens. There is just this corrupt empire and the stories which play about within it. It is irredeemable but utterly indestructible. There is also no alien life. There aren't any tentacled creatures or scholarly arhthropods. Humankind has however evolved along vastly different lines as would be expected over millions of years. There is also AI but they exist as dispersed energy fields (sha-a-a-akey science) throughout the universe. They have no dealings with humans. The empire's humans are cyborgs also so AI is deemed pointless.
Im going to plan this to the nth degree. I may just use this civilisation as a continuous world I can play with for years. It will have it own political structure the universe has unique laws etc.
Just wanted to share this as ive been dying of boredom of late. Total anhedonia. No coursework so I feel empty and rather lost. I need to fill the void
