I was thinking about Tommy and Quadrophenia by The Who and wondering. Why not create a rock opera about an autistic?

That would be really cool, especially if it had the thoughts of the autistic person in part of the opera, and then the "outside world" not understanding and judging in another

I've had ideas about this.

What about the length? It couldn't be a single disc. No. That wouldn't happen. Instead what about two or even three discs. Between 120 and 240 minutes long.

You also have The Wall by Pink Floyd were the main person ends up building a wall around himself. It all ends in a rather theatrical and slightly absurd trial were he sentences himself to tear the wall down.

Writing a rock opera is no easy task. And the golden age of rock operas is kinda gone. Which is unfortunate because I really like them.

Which band would people want to write a rock opera? My vote is on Tool. Or maybe Radiohead.

Wasn't Tommy in "Tommy" autistic?

No. He witnessed a murder and his parents told him to keep it secret so he became deaf, dumb, and blind

I think the idea is that WE create it.

It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to make Tommy autistic. Especially as regards his "special interest": pinball machines.

I would personally do an opera with elements of both Tommy and Quadrophenia.
