Professor SmartyBluff was perhaps the most well regarded academic in the fields of social science.

He was presenting his paper on "Deindividualization Among Populations with High Cultural Diversification" when he met his nemesis. A man wearing a dark green turtle neck and a baseball cap. Just 30 seconds in, the man raised his hand to ask a question.

"What does that mean? Deindividualization Among Populations with High Cultural Diversification?" asked his nemesis.

"It means what it says. It studies the effect of deindividualization among populations that have high levels of cultural diversity." replied SmartyBluff

"You aren't hiding behind large words and obscure phrasing to hide the fact you have little to no substance to you paper are you? How does one get a metric for how deinidividualized a population is anyway?" asked his nemesis.

"Deindividualization can be marked by commonalities across the studied population" replied the Professor.

"So I'm guessing you have some kind of metric for how much a person has lost their individualness. What do you look at for?" asked his nemesis.

"Assume that prior to the integration of cultures and the rise of cultural diversity you could look at certain indications like whether or not people across the population are consuming the same breakfast foods, or wearing the same articles of clothing. These would be some metrics you could use to measure cultural diversity" replied Professor SmartyBluff.

"How do you measure one thing to another? For instance if a large number of people were eating the same cereal for breakfast that would mean they lose 5 units of individualness and wearing the same socks would be 3 units" suggested his Nemesis

"The process of measuring deindividualization is not an exact science - instead the paper focuses on general trends. We've noticed that globally the world is trending towards a more deindividualized state. People are becoming more deindividualized as cultures mesh" said the Professor.

"So what you mean to say is we're all coming together and enjoying the same things" said his nemesis.

"Yes" said the Professor.

"I've heard what I needed to hear. Basic stuff. That's the insight all of you have been waiting to hear, I'll be on my way." said his Nemesis as he walked out.
