These are some of my favourite singer songwriters along with what is to me their best album. They all have a body of work which is consistently musically brilliant. Anyone else have any favourite songwriters? They dont have to be solo artists with guitars but solo artists who use their voice as the main vehicle for their music are preferred. Bjork gets a spot because she is a solo artist whose voice is prominent.

There's a fair few more I could list but these overstep the line from the minimal production I think you're looking for.
