I'm writing a story about a sixteen year old girl with severe autism. She is often trapped in her own world, and she also doesn't understand the reality of everything around her. However, she is very keen to her hearing and other senses though, which makes it easy for her to learn.

The problem I'm having is how to progress the story. I want to make it as interesting as possible and to also surround her autism. I want it to be about how she and her family copes with having a severely-disabled teenager. I want there to be more twists as well as this too, but I just can seem to think of anything. D:

Just wondering, are you writing your story from a personal perspective? If so you could talk to your siblings and parents about what it was like for them, having you growing up with them. Incorporate elements from your childhood into the story. If you dream a lot, often ideas from your dreams (if you can remember your dreams) can be used to add twists into the story. Finally, if are suffering writers block, make sure you have a quiet place to work. Try to concentrate on writing so many words a day. Doesn't matter if it's rubbish. At some point the words will start to flow.

Not really. I also don't have anyone I can talk to about it. D: My family hardly remembers what my childhood was like. I'd love to be able to do that though, but my autism isn't as severe as what my character's autism is.
